Back to Films The Ice Age

The Ice Age transports viewers to the ancient icy landscapes of North America, Europe, and Asia, investigating the causes and results of the ice era as we attempt to understand the Earth’s past and better prepare for its future.  Computer-generated imagery brings the Ice Age to life, including a dramatic scene recreating a prehistoric sinkhole that swallowed 54 wooly mammoths, a treasure trove to present day paleontologists. Featured researchers examine natural versus man-made geological trends, presenting a thoughtful and balanced look at this controversial issue and an interesting, bigger-picture perspective into the relationship between weather, the Earth, and its inhabitants. Funded in part by the National Science Foundation and created by the team behind Dinosaurs Alive, The Ice Age provides audiences with a greater appreciation for how the forces of nature once impacted human existence…and how man now holds the power to maintain a healthy balance between the protection of the Earth and the utilization of her resources.
